For a while now, folks have been asking “Why don’t you record some of the hard edged rockabilly that you usually finish your gigs with?“. We didn’t really have a reason why we hadn’t, So we set to it!
Our Past releases have been a healthy mix of all the styles in the Roots Rockbilly Genre we’ve grown up on. This time we looked at more of the tuff sounding rockabilly sides of Dale Hawkins, Johnny Horton, Ronnie Dawson, Jerry Reed, Johnny Burnette, Roy Buchanun, Deke Dickerson and also to the Rock ‘N’ Roll side of Carl Mann and Charlie Rich.
So while we were down in Melbourne town playing with Ezra Lee, we thought we’d drop into our ole mate Greame Thomas’ Presston studio and see if we could get one or two tunes down. By the end of the day we ended up with nine!
